Often people who really need help do not realize it or are unable to ask for it. The intervention process was developed as a realistic alternative to continuing the downward spiral of the illness.


The intervention process is effective. Ninety percent of those intervened upon ultimately seek treatment. Furthermore, once in treatment, the person who has been intervened upon has the same high chance for success in treatment as the person who seeks help on his/her own.
